CBS recently ran a mixed martial arts fight. Most of these fights are on Pay-Per view or a deluxe cable channel, but not on a basic cable channel. I have never seen a fight like this before and needless to say was a bit curious. First off, I must point out that these fights do not dissappoint. They are clearly real and have much less materialism than wrestling. I will likely watch another one of these fights on Pay-Per view, however, I could not believe that this was being broadcast to all audiences in America. The bottom line is that children should not be wathcing this. I can see it now, first graders imitating Kimbo Slice bashing one's head into the ground. These fights show things that developing children should not be seeing. Aside from the violence there was excessive blood in almost every fight. Again this is a great thing for the adult audience, but is just another reason that children should not be watching this. The blame does not go on the shoulders of CBS, nor is it the parents fault that some children wathced this. I would just hate to see this become a reoccuring thing. Fights like this are not meant to be seen by children and they should be put out of reach.
Camclow, I am not sure if you meant for this to be a topic suggestion or just a commentary/review of a television program?
fights like that? My husband has a black belt in Karate and my two sons have it nearly in Judo, besides they are all practising Jiu-Jitsu when there is some time to do so. And there is no blood! I guess they would tell everybody just to try to see how it feels - the easiest way changing the relation to the dubious pleasure!
