In response to DEBATE: Are ODBMSs dead? Did they ever have a pulse?.

Anytime a new technology comes along, there is resistance. It's like when snowboards became the new big thing. I was a very decent skier, I could handle most black diamonds, and I was in no way ready to start over from the beginning!

Just give it time

I don't think anyone was honestly expecting overnight conversion en masse.

In 2004, object-oriented databases experienced a resurgence of popularity,
with technology experts proclaiming that ODBMSs would soon replace
relational databases as the management systems of choice for the Internet.
And nothing happened.

Although ODBMSs have been adopted in some engineering and science fields,
they've made little headway against RDBMSs in the Internet space. Are they
DOA? Or is the developer community missing the boat?

Alireza Jafarzadeh, a spokesman for the National Council of Resistance of Iran, which uncovered the existence of Iran’s uranium enrichment plant at Natanz, said the IAEA was being strung along. “A number of nuclear sites have not even been visited by the IAEA,” he said. “They’re giving a clean bill of health to a regime that is known to have practised deception.”

The Washington Post scorned President Truman as a “spoilsman” who “underestimated the people’s intelligence.” New York Times columnist James Reston wrote off President Eisenhower as “a tired man in a period of turbulence.” At the end of President Reagan’s second term, the New York Times dismissed him as “simplistic” and a “lazy and inattentive man.”

it's kind of annoying having to scroll down forever to get to the login and other useful things.....have you considered having a left-hand column as well? or at least moving the login/register thing to the top of the page where it's visible. having a link to register where you can see it might just improve your chances of signing people on. just a thought.

On facebook.com, certain actions require you to enter a captcha, like on this site. However, they have an extra registration process you can go through so that you don't have to do them anymore. I'm not sure what it is (I haven't actually done it since I don't use the site much) but man, if you could work out something like that for your frequent users, I would be soooo happy. Anyone else with me on this?
